The Language of the Deaf explores topics of greed and unspoken taboos in society, gravity of silence and fear of words. How can we challenge societal cliches? Shed light onto subconscious patterns? And how can dangerous lust be satisfied without the overstepping of boundaries? The performance, initially commissioned by curator Rachelle Deuguara was first showcased twice during the exhibition XQXS at the Rosa Kwir. Following its success, D.Shows was invited to perform it again at the PLIGHT exhibition, by Maria Borg in December 2023, as well as at the Pause and Play Festival of UMO in 2025.
