What I do
Here you will find more info about performances that I shaped, sometimes through my writing, other times directing, or as a performer on stage.
Hurray Our World is Ending!
To the end of the Wold! And to whatever comes after 🥂
This performance piece, set in a bar, diving into the sentiment of being paralyzed by frustration.
The grumpy regular ranting about the world, while drinking through another night of forgetting.
“My mind is in: Palestine, Congo, Ethiopia, Sudan. It’s on one of the boats that might arrive at our shores tomorrow. Or yesterday? and I haven’t even kept up with the news to carry this knowledge like a burden. “
But how can we do something about it?
D.Shows invited all the spectators in the bar to connect.
We are deeply touched by the feedback and conversations that arose from this performance.

BLACKOUT
Premiered at Theatre Next Door, Malta 2023
September 2024 at Neues Schauspiel, Leipzig Germany
MEET KATHRIN, AN INSPIRING INFLUENCER AND EVERYONE’S BEST FRIEND! CHARMING, YOUNG AND PROUDLY DAZZLING.
KATHRIN IS EVERYTHING SHE WANTS TO BE. WELL… AT LEAST ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE PULLS THE PLUG? A DEVASTATING BLACKOUT HITS THE WHOLE AREA, UPTURNING KATHRIN’S SUPERFICIAL EXISTENCE; CONFRONTED WITH THE SILENCE AROUND AND THE TAUNTING VOICES WITHIN HER. WILL THE BLACKOUT ACT AS A CATALYST FOR CHANGE OR BE A REAL WORLD BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH?
Identità
Identità answers the question, "How can a devised performance with multicultural participants serve as a collaborative tool for intercultural connection in Malta?"
Director Diellza Ilgner used devised theater methods to open the doors to collaborative storytelling. As performers share their lives – from biographies to languages, cultures, and talents – an intense connection emerges. The director delicately guided the weaving of their stories into the fabric of the play, creating an exploration of intercultural interrelation.
The Language of the Deaf explores topics of greed and unspoken taboos in society, gravity of silence and fear of words.
How can we challenge societal cliches? Shed light onto subconscious patterns?
And how can dangerous lust be satisfied without the overstepping of boundaries?
The performance, initially commissioned by curator Rachelle Deuguara was first showcased twice during the exhibition XQXS at the Rosa Kwir.
Following its success, D.Shows was invited to perform it again at the PLIGHT exhibition, by Maria Borg in December 2023.
